Kumi Machida <-- Born in Takasaki, Gunma in 1970, graduated from Tama University of Arts, majored in Japanese style painting. She won the grand-prix at Maebashi Art Live Cometition '99 in 999, The 4th Jomo Art Award in 2007, and The Sovereign Asian Art Prize in 2007. ‘The “Vershina” Trade and Entertainment Centre is the first five-star international shopping center in Surgut and offers space for retail, extreme sports areas, dance studios, restaurants, bars and an underground night-club. Ash Color Mountains by contemporary artist Makoto Aida is part of the “Bye Bye Kitty” exhibition that was shown at Japan Society in New York City last year. ‘Most of Aida’s themes revolve around sex, death, and politics, meshing iconic imagery into easily depicted commentaries on the world around him.’

Polly Morgan’s Still Birth is a series of preserved chicks, suspended by colored balloons kept with in bell jars.

Japanese artist Hidemi Nishida has completed a temporary winter structure located in the forest in Sapporo, Japan. Elevated in the air, the shelter is a direct response of the drastic weather conditions. Karolina Tylka of the Polish design studio BEYOND, has created this adjustable Coffee Bench. ‘The idea is about supporting smart use of space. The inspiration came from the need of having a coffee in the garden and no space to place the cup or newspaper. Space of seat and table is adjusted by rotating elements of the bench.’
