  1. Dear Mr. Gschmeissner,

I am a research entomologist working for the USDA. I study the molecular basis of olfaction in Aedes and Anopheles mosquitoes.
The few things I especially enjoy is communicating my research using visual presentations. Because the molecular aspects of my work can be boring I make every effort to keep the audience interested using colorful and aesthetically appealing illustrator graphics.
I would love to make a vector graphic illustration of an Aedes aegypti head in order to show the various sensory organs.
I saw that you have 2 or 3 such pictures. Could you loan me one or two at a resolution that would allow me to faithfully reproduce details as little as the scales? It is understood that the resulting Illustrator graphic would be shared with you if so enclined.
I would also be more than happy to send you one of my presentation so that you can judge my graphical abilities.

Thank you for considering this request.

    Dear Mr Gschmeissner

I am the director of the Satyagraha Foundation for Nonviolence Studies in Amsterdam. We are building a web site and would like your permission to use your photograph of an individual mustard seed as the logo for the site. We would, of course, give you full credit. We are a nonprofit organization registered in the Netherlands, and as such have limited funds.
Please let us know if we can use the photo and your conditions.

  3. Great reference material for my paintings, do you have a book? Cheers Ted May.
